Deep fried Chocolate ice cream

Impress all your friends and dinner party guests with this quick and easy but very effective dessert,At a guess I would say 98% of the people you know would never ever tried this dish with a crisp crunchy outside and that smooth sumptuous texture that only ice cream can provide. For this recipe you can either make your own ice cream or use the brand of your choice to save time as well. and Experiment with coatings I prefer coconut but you can use crushed cornflakes or biscuit crumbs and I'm sure you can find even more please let me know if you do.

Ingredients for chocolate ice cream
5 medium egg yolks
25 fl oz single cream
5 1⁄3 oz caster sugar
4 tbsp cocoa powder
Coating
4 scoops well-frozen ice cream (any flavor)
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup of dessicated coconut or crushed Corn Flakes
oil for frying
Instructions
Chocolate ice cream
1: Make a basic custard with Cocoa Powder
Separate 5 eggs, keeping the yolks in a small bowl and discarding the whites. Whisk them all together until they are well beaten. Then mix the egg yolks in a saucepan with 750ml of single cream and 150 grams of caster sugar. Heat on a medium heat, stirring frequently until almost at the boil. When almost boiling add 4 tablespoons of Cocoa Powder and stir in thoroughly.

Remove mixture from heat and pour into a cold bowl or jug, and leave to cool fully.

Step 2: Transfer mixture to ice cream maker
Once the mixture is cool, transfer everything into your ice cream maker. Check your manufacturers instructions but for this quantity you will need to put the machine on for roughly 30 minutes.

Alternatively, if you don't have an ice cream maker, you can simply pour the mixture into a tub and bung it in the freezer, but you will need to stir it regularly as it sets, which will take up to 5 hours.

Once the time is up and the ice cream has set, simply scoop and serve!Alternatively proceed.

Coating your ice cream
1. Make 4 perfectly round (if you can manage it) scoops of ice-cream and put them in the deep freezer for 15 minutes.
2. Give all the scoops an egg wash once you remove them from the deep freezer, then roll them on the coconut or crushed corn flakes to give them a nice coating. Then put them back in the freezer for 20 minutes.
3. Repeat this whole process twice, so the ice cream will be thickly coated with the coconut or corn flake mix.
4. Heat the oil and make sure it is burning hot.
5. Deep fry the ice-cream quickly for 5-8 seconds until crispy on the outside.

SERVING:

Serve immediately, with a drizzle of chocolate sauce and a maraschino cherry on top.

Spice it all up add one or two spoonfuls of chilli powder to the coconut depending on taste.
